Looking for sunshine

It is fall now and that means, days can be beautiful and sunny and warm or they can be gray and cold and foggy. Last Sunday it was one of those gray days in Alberschwende, but if you went up high enough into the mountains the sun was coming through.

So we packed up our kids and went up Diedamskopf. This is one of our favorite mountains, in Summer and in Winter. It is great to hike in the summer and awesome to ski in the winter.

Already the ride up the cable car is always fun for the kids and it was cool to come out of the clouds and fog into the sun.
On top they have a new big indoor play area for kids. If your kid is 3 or older, you could drop them off to play for $1.5/hour (can't wait for Finn to have his birthday next week). For kids under 3 they have a play area where parents can supervise them. We hung out there for a while and had all the toys to ourselves.

After that we went outside to the playground and played there. Hiking was not option that day - the kids were not interested in it. Too bad.
But instead we looked around, walked a little, had some yummy Schnitzel for lunch and listened to the nice music that was playing that day.

It was beautiful to see the sea of fog below us and the sun above us. If the kids would have not gotten tired, we would have stayed a while longer. But nap time was calling....

Great indoor play area

On the deck a band was playing

Only the peaks of the mountains were looking out of the fog

Hm, Schnitzel...

Trying to get a nice picture

Cheese everybody

Going back down into the fog

Having fun in the gondola
