Do you like chocolate? Do you like Milka chocolate? We do! And we are lucky because the Milka chocolate plant is located in Bludenz, about 45 minutes from our house.
Each year they put on a big chocolate festival at the beginning of summer. I remember as a kid going to this festival and I was super excited to take my kids to something I remember doing as a kid.
On Saturday morning the weather was not nice, it was raining and grey. Nevertheless we packed up, put the kids into rainboots and rain coats and headed to the festival. By the time we got there it had stopped raining and the sun was coming out.
We found a great parking spot and headed towards the action. There were over 60 stations where kids could play games or do some sort of activity which all got rewarded with chocolate! Our kids were too small for most of the activities but they got plenty of chocolate anyway.
We participated in a few activities and then headed for the playground, which was much more fun for our kids than the rest.
My favorite stop was making your own chocolate. Finn and I grounded chocolate beans, than heated the chocolate powder up, mixed it with sugar, chocolate butter and milk powder, stirred for a few minutes, put it into little trays, let it cool and voila, our chocolate was done!
Overall, it was a "sweet" morning, but I think we will have even more fun in the years to come when they are old enough to participate in all the games.
