First visit to the city - Big Apple!

Today we took the kids to NYC for the first time. It was fun and exciting and pretty easy.

The walk to the train station from our apartment in White Plains is about 10 minutes (with the kids in the stroller). The train ride into the city to Grand Central was 35 minutes and cost 17 Dollars roundtrip each - kids under 5 are free. The kids enjoyed the train ride and got a ticket from the conductor.

At Grand Central Station we met up with our friend Mark who showed us around town.
We saw a cool art exhibit at Grand Central and walked up to Ben's office - to check out his commute. We then continued to Central Park and there was a lot to see along the way - fire trucks, cranes, fountains, cool shop windows, etc.

First arrival at Grand Central Station

We decided to not visit the zoo at Central Park this time, but will be back for sure. We did get to see the seals though. We then took a walk in Central Park, climbed up some rocks and found a great playground with the coolest slide in the city (as one mom told us there).
The kids played, had a snack, went on the swings and used the slide several times.
And I got to have my first celebrity sighting - Bethenny Frankel was hanging at the same playground as us with her daughter.

We then continued our tour and had lunch at a typical NY Diner. Mark even made me eat Matzah Ball Soup which I really enjoyed.

On our way to lunch
After lunch we made our way back to Grand Central Station and the kids were so exhausted that they both fell asleep in the stroller and slept the whole train ride home to White Plains.
Both of them were exhausted at the end of their first visit to NYC

Overall a very successful first trip to NYC! Looking forward to going back soon.
