Cousins are fun!

We really enjoy that Ben's family is "close by" now. We get to see them on a regular basis and the kids absolutely love it! The cousins always have a fun time together.

What to do when it is hot again, but the air conditioner units have already been put away?

Flashback: End of Summer Fireworks

Something fun that we have close by is Playland Park. This is one of the oldest amusement parks in the States and it is beautifully set right by the water in Rye.
Unfortunately we never made it to the park this year, but we managed to see the last fireworks display of the season. Each year during the summer the have free fireworks on Wednesdays and Fridays at Playland Park.
We went the last Friday before Labor Day and sat on the beach in Rye. Lots of people were there having picknicks, music playing, kids running around, sipping wine. We had brought a blanket and watched the nice show.
I think this might become one of our annual traditions: to have a nice evening at the Rye beach watching fireworks go off!

Great walk in our new neighborhood

On our drive home today we stopped at Sheldrake Nature Center here in Larchmont. I had heard about it but we have never been. As it was a beautiful fall day today and we were not ready to be indoors yet, we stopped there. We were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful area and the great walk we had around the Larchmont Reservoir.
The kids threw rocks into the water, picked up sticks while walking, tried to chase the squirrels and we all enjoyed the nice fall sun.
They are having a fall festival in October at the center and I am sure I will be writing about that.

Walking back

WE ARE BACK!!!

I would like to apologize for the past few months. They have just been so crazy that I totally abandoned my blog updating (I was pretty good on Facebook). Sorry about that!
We have closed on our house in the July, but were not able to move in until August. We moved in, but two days later the kids and I flew to Austria for 3 weeks. While we were busy in Austria, Ben worked hard on getting things ready at the house. Thanks for that! But there is still a lot of work ahead of us. We needed some new furniture and our Austrian things have not arrived yet - stuck somewhere between Alberschwende and Larchmont. I had schedules ready for the kids, but then Finn got into another school and everything changed again.
So, you can imagine that life is never boring here at the Muldrew/ Heregger house.

But we are finally back and ready:
- We are finally in our house
- We have finally started school for the kids
- We are finally making friends in our neighborhood
- We are finally starting to feel at home!

In order to keep up, I will continue writing about what we are doing, but also doing some flashbacks about the past few months as we did some fun things despite the crazy moving issues :-)

Welcome to the Muldrew/Heregger house!
